Jamesie Johnston of the Scottish group, Albannach, is back behind his bass drum after recovering from stab wounds received after a Scottish festival in Glasgow, Kentucky, last June. The group was in Lansdale last Saturday and Johnston says he considers himself “very lucky” to be alive and anywhere.

In his latest book, Dr. Sean Kay, a professor of politics and government at Ohio Weslyan and an advisor to Barack Obama, explores what happened when Ireland lost its faith in its economy, its government and its church. He will be speaking, along with Irish Consul General Noel Kilkenny, at Temple University on November 4, a program sponsored by Irish Network-Philadelphia.
