“It takes a village to raise a child” is a proverb that means that an entire community of people must provide for and interact positively with children for those children to experience and grow in a safe and healthy environment.
There has been something very special going on this month of April for a special family and very special little girl. My friend Raymond Coleman has been playing his usual mad schedule of gigs but this month the establishments have held fundraisers for the Autism Awareness Charities and fans of Irish music have come out in droves to support it. This Monday night was one of those special evenings where the Ashburner was packed with musicians and fans sharing and caring for Céilí Coleman. Photos can’t show you all the Love that was present but one was never in a warmer atmosphere. This friday, Jackyl Coleman, Ray’s saintly bride, will be behind the taps at AOH Division 87 Port Richmond. All tips will be donated to MCIU? Special Autism Schools in the area. I think they may need a bigger tent.
