An exciting and fun new trad group, The Consequences, shared their Kickstarter video with us (there are still a few days left to contribute!). The group includes James (fiddle), Lexie Boatright (concertina/harp), Cara Wildman (bodhrán/dance), and Ryan Ward (piano/piano accordion) who create great on-stage chemistry as they take audiences from exciting dance tunes to lovely slow pieces with slick arrangements and lush harmonies. Their much anticipated debut album will be released in summer 2023. Individually, the band members have toured across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Ireland and Japan with world renowned musicians including Joanie Madden, Irish Christmas in America, Green Fields of America, and Máiréad Nesbitt, including performances at Carnegie Hall, the Great American Irish Festival, Symphony Space, and Joanie Madden’s Folk ’n Irish Cruise. They are regular teachers and performers in the summer school and festival circuit. You can hear them live on Friday, May 14, at The Commodore Barry Arts and Cultural Center (The Irish Center), 6815 Emlen Street, Philadelphia, a production of the Philadelphia Ceili Group. Tickets will go on sale soon.
