I stopped in the’ Pub on the Pike’, Rockledge’s Gaul & Co Malt House to see what all the quizzo hubbub was about. Billy Donahue of Shantys fame was holding court and trying to stump the house full of Quizzo buffs. As I looked around, everyone sitting at the tables in both rooms and even those at the bar had their sheets and pencils in front of them anxiously waiting for the next question. The best part is the team’s names such as – “The North Guys” (on Dougherty’s turf), “Fired Up”, “Tux & Sam and homies”, “Gone quizzin”,” Fake News”, “Just quizzed my pants” and “Big Nickel,” to name a few. Apparently you can make this shit up. Every week Bill has 4 round with just as bizarre names also, Candy round, Famous duos and pairs, Brands of booze by country and a final round . Prizes are awarded and there is even a progressive 50/50 that you can buy in on and hopefully guess the right answer. You can catch Billy every Tuesday night 8pm at the Pub on the Pike orWednesdays at 7pm at the Red Rooster
