Montgomery County Community College’s Lively Arts Series is proud to present Eileen Ivers on Saturday, October 10, at 8 p.m. in the Science Center Theater.
As the daughter of Irish immigrants, fiddler Eileen Ivers experienced a childhood in a culturally diverse Bronx neighborhood that inspired her blend of Irish music and North American roots music. Her sound is a celebration–the story of the Irish immigrant’s impact on America, and America’s impact on the Irish immigrant.

Irish traditional music meets the New York downtown scene. With fiddlers Martin Hayes and Caoimhin Ó Raghallaigh, Dennis Cahill on guitar, Iarla Ó Lionáird on vocals and Thomas Bartlett on piano, these master musicians create a new sound that pairs memorable, yearning melodies with a progressive style. The Gloaming’s music is charged by the traditions of Ireland with passionate interpretations of songs both familiar and entirely fresh.
This popular group will get you up out of your seats–in fact, there’s limited visibility in the first four rows because of the dancing. So get up and dance.
